Aged Care and Disability Support Worker Check

Australian Capital Territory, Employment requirements, Health and Safety, NDIS, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Outer territories, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia

It is a requirement that all people in all states and territories in Australia have completed an ndis support worker screening check as they have now commenced implementing NDIS Worker Screening Check arrangements.

Suppose you are a worker delivering NDIS support and services through an NDIS service provider. In that case, you will need an NDIS worker screening clearance, so do this as a priority, along with a valid working with children check in most cases.

People on self-managed plans looking for assistance are not required to employ care and support or assistance workers with a current ndis worker screening certificate, However they can and should be asking for one for their own safety,

They don’t want some loose unit with a meth habit looking after you and you can not refuse this request when it is asked for so do your self a favour and get one I can help you through the process contact us if you can not find the right information on my site.

An Aged care and disability support worker check assesses if a person who is or wants to work with people with a disability poses any risk to them. It lets employers and those wanting assistance know whether a person is ok or excluded from working in specific roles with people with disability.

There are very few roles that do not need it.

The NDIS Worker Screening Check will be conducted by the Worker Screening Unit in the state or territory where you apply for the Check.

Registered NDIS providers must ensure that they only employ workers or engage volunteers who have been cleared in specific roles, called risk-assessed roles. When you go to the NDIS Quality and safeguards commission website, there is all the information you need and more detailed explanations.

The Exception is Secondary school students on a formal work experience placement with a registered NDIS provider do not need an NDIS worker screening clearance or acceptable check to be engaged in a risk-assessed role. This is provided they are directly supervised by another worker with an NDIS worker screening clearance or an acceptable check, so you will need one if you’re doing a cert 3 or 4 in aged care qualification in order to complete your work placement hours of training.
